Hey, Val. Read the last paragraph and let me know if I missed anything.

Um. I think it's worth sitting through the blood, that's really not the worst thing you can find in the violence. I started by watching AMVs, and eventually got so used to the gore I just... accepted that I -had- to watch it, at that point. The voices leave something to be desired, for a lot of the cast, but the -concept- is beautiful. I guess it all depends on -how- you are about a series. If the romance is enough of a catch to turn a blind eye to the violence, than it's definitely worth the watch - since the whole story is based on romance (Gorey romance story, now *there's* something interesting.)

See, the -wonderful- thing about Elfen Lied is how few of the characters you get attached to, actually die. FMA was a trauma-fest compared to Elfen Lied, in my opinion. Because they killed people you -care- about, and they did it in a way that left you hurting the rest of the series. If you don't mind seeing a few hundred officers being mauled, it's completely doable. If -any- violence, no matter how "Security Guard/Extra #347" the character is, is going to bother you...

Again, it all comes down to whether or not the romance itself is -worth it-. I loved it, I truly did, and my favorite character turned out to be the man I expected to hate. But again, not for everyone, and I am quite ignorant to your tastes outside of the obvious. One thing I can tell you is that the violence is definitely "hide behind your hands"-able. Because when violence is going on, there isn't really anything plot-wise to miss on the screen.

My entire life is FMA and Fruits Basket, so... I don't know.

That aside, I do second Ranma if harem anime's your thing, and Wolf's Rain if miserable angst is your thing. Just ... reading other comments, for ideas. Um *Writing a novel, apparently* The others I was really big into were Chrono Crusade, Loveless and DN Angel, not sure how you'd feel on any of those.

Also, if you've seen any of those and think they suck please let me know. I'd like to get a general idea of what's green or red light material, and if our opinions clash on certain things it helps to know what.

*Shuts up*
