Lion, Spider, Lynx, Spider, Lion, Fox....

I don't remember the Lynx's traits, but- somehow, the lion, spider, and fox are all... Very similar.

Now that I've started reading again, I do need to get to a book store, and finish that series. Why does reading The Golden Compass before it was a Trilogy make me feel old?
