On friending: (sticky post)

A quick heads up for anyone friending me:

One: I post a lot of random things. Everything I post is done by custom groups, so if there's something you don't want to have clogging up your f-list (i.e. memes or secret posts.) comment to this post and let me know. I'll remove you from that group~

Edit: The above is not so much true anymore, but feel free to comment that entry regardless, in case I pick the habit up again in the future.


Two: I'm a lurker by nature, so if you only keep people on your f-list who comment frequently, I'm probably not a wise choice


Three: When friending me, please comment here with two colors from the Friend Add page, for me to add you with.
First color will be the username, second color the background - i.e. yellow on  black - if I can pull that off without going blind.

If you don't respond with two colors I will be slow to add you back.


Four: On de-friending, please leave a comment here letting me know (preferably with why) if you remove me. No hard feelings, I like to just be aware of what's going on, and if the remove was intentional or accidental.
It would just be really helpful, okay~? <3


Five: Last, because it is particularly important this matter stands out and is remembered. I value honesty, trust and respect above all else.

If you feel the need to snoop around behind my back, instead of coming to me and talking about a concern.
If you feel that you can manipulate me or that you need to corner me for any reason.
If you can't respect me as a person, and trust me as a friend enough to communicate with me.
If you feel that you have the right to order me around because you're not happy with something that I've said.

If any or all of these apply to you... Please refrain from wasting your time, and mine, in advance by not adding me to your f-list.

When I started doing it, it was because my two best friends hated each other, so if one saw the other's comment (regardless of the topic) they'd refuse to comment, themself.

So, if they can't see those comments... They won't have a reason to not comment, themself.

I wouldn't mind the technical, I'm a very technical person - but the LJ Friend colors don't work that way. this (http://icarusxelric.livejournal.com/2784.html?thread=1504#t1504) comment is the best example. Basically, if you go into your Friends options here (http://www.livejournal.com/friends/edit.bml) there's a box at the bottom, with the color options. PICK TWO OF THOSE COLORS. Very limited on how many there are to pick from, I know. (You might notice the order is reversed, i.e. a dark forest type green is called Green, Dark - that's the kind of answer I need.)

And let me know which one you want to be the background (main color) and which one you want to be the text.

No, you can give people specific colours. see (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v321/box_of_doom/?action=view&current=Specificcolors.png)? It's just a difference of doing it through individual "add friend" rather than the group "manage friends". (Everyone is on black for me, so no, you're not really getting a random shade of pink as a background....)

However, if you must have two "basic" color options, either red, sky blue, or light sky blue on black, if you please.

I have hot pink and yellow, and bright green and orange already - I'm not too worried about the painful thing. It's just that... I wanted everyone to have a unique color combination. So many people picked pink on black, and there are only so many shades of pink... It's getting difficult.
