I have a book about deaths in the grand canyon. So all I really can say about it is: don't be a dumbass and try to take your picture pretending to fall over the edge, especially if said edge was blocked off by railings specifically telling you not to try to take a picture of yourself beyond them.

Apparently that's one of the most common ways people accidentally die there! Oh hey, there's a railing there that warns people not to climb over it for photos! Let's climb over it an take a photo! It'll be very ironical. Then, whoops!
